Musical Director Anthony Wythe ARCM

Tony WytheTony's musical career began when he successfully passed an audition to join the band of the Grenadier Guards.

He served with the band for twelve years, rising to the post of principal cornet/trumpet player - a post he held for eleven years. During this time, in addition to the normal work of a Guards Band in London (Changing the Guard at Buckingham Palace, Trooping the Colour etc) he broadcast and recorded frequently and also toured the world with the band.

On leaving the band, he started a career as a freelance trumpet player, working in many London theatres and also with, amongst others, the BBC Concert Orchestra and D'oyly Carte Orchestra.  On moving back to Hampshire, Tony also became the conductor or many musical organisations mainly in the operatic and light music field, while continuing his career as a freelance player and teacher of the trumpet.
